Xiaomi is soon to make the Redmi 2 available here in the country and will be priced under Php6K.
After the successful local release of the Redmi 1S, Xiaomi brings it successor, the Redmi 2, packing a more powerful 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chipset, Adreno 306 graphics, and a 2200mAh battery capacity. It still got 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage, though this one only supports up to 32GB additional memory via microSD.
The Redmi 2 got a fully laminated display having the same size of the 1S at 4.7-inch with a 720p resolution. However, it shaved off about 1.8mm to have much thinner bezels and about 0.5mm to get its built much thinner. Rear camera still has 8MP with BSI sensor, but the selfie cam already gets a 2MP sensor, even capable of 720p HD video recording. Another noteworthy feature is its dual 4G LTE (both microSIM) connectivity.

Almost everything got an upgrade, including the MIUI 6 on top of Android Kitkat OS. Though, Xiaomi just released a MIUI 6 global beta build for Redmi 1S as well. The Redmi 2 has considerably gone pricier than the Redmi 1S with a Php500 margin to be officially priced at Php5,999.

Besides the Redmi 2, Xiaomi also placed the Mi Pad on its site, which is priced at Php10,999. Again, we could expect both to be on sale online with Lazada anytime soon.
