Toshiba’s first Chromebook got unveiled last month at Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas, and now gets to sell first in the US and the UK.
The silver-finish came off very distinct with a textured back cover of the 13.3-inch display for easy handling. There are the black keys that defines everything that you’ll see upon opening, though a dedicated search button found its own place in exchange of the caps lock. The one piece touchpad also gets its own limelight just below the keyboard.
The Chromebook got the Intel Celeron 2955U Haswell processor, with 2GB RAM and 16GB SSD. Besides the microSD expansion slot, it also comes with free 100GB user storage with Google Drive for two years. It has HDMI and USB 3.0 ports, plus Bluetooth 4.0, and WiFi, which takes care of wireless connectivity.
Toshiba Chromebook is priced at $279.99 in the US on its press release, though its $288 on Amazon and at 299.99 USD at Toshiba’s site. Back in the UK, Amazon priced it at 249 GBP.
