Starmobile gets more engaging with how they’re picking up specification and design cues, specially on their latest tablet offering, the Starmobile Engage 9i, which sports the Intel Atom Z2580 underneath the 8.9-inch IPS LCD display.
It’s a bit interesting that Intel’s making a dent on the mobile market with smartphones and tablets globally and locally are now incorporating Intel’s chipsets even inside their flagship models. Intel Atom Z2580 Clovertrail+ processor actually only has dual core set at 2.0GHz, though the two cores are capable of quad-thread hyper threading, meaning it’ll run close to a four core processor as well.
Performance therefore, will definitely exceed what you may think about a dual-core CPU. Besides that, it has 2GB RAM and 6500 mAh battery to support multitasking and an all day multimedia engagement. The 9i tablet only has Wi-Fi with no 3G, though it can be helped with a 3G USB dongle. USB On-The-Go is also supported, and it has Bluetooth 3.0, so you can easily read and transfer your files to and fro the 9” slate via cable or even wireless.
Engage 9i has a full high def display with 1920 x 1200 resolution. Turning it around will surprise you that it actually has a glass finish, like the iPhone 4s with an aluminum band frame sandwiched with glass panels. It has 5-megapixel camera at the back, and a 2-megapixel camera found in front. It comes with Android JB 4.2.2 already installed. Pricing is pegged at Php9,990 and will hit the shelves first week of this month of February.
