Portable Wireless Printing Without Ink Via LG Pocket Photo PD221 Launched in the Philippines

LG Electronics Philippines just launched last month the LG Pocket Photo PD221, a smart mobile printer, which allows you to easily edit and print your pictures from either your iPhone or Android smartphones wirelessly without even the need for ink.

That’s pretty impressive don’t you think? It’s like Polaroid, but better because you can do some editing prior printing. Though, it only works with a smartphone with the Pocket Photo app installed. With the app, you can add customizable photo frames that is great for making invitations, use photo filters to make cool effects, or even use the split photo function to make a memorable mix of photos. Plus you can share your photos right away via FB and Twitter, or the just the paper copy itself instantly. You can also add some infos like dates, venues or memos on the photo by putting a QR code. That too, is a useful tool for business, whether for marketing events or simply printing a fresh business card.

So, how portable is it? It measures only 72.4 x 120.9 x 24 mm and weighs only 215g. While the photo paper is only a 2” by 3”. Another good thing is that it doesn’t need ink because of their Zink technology, ink cartridges or refills will never bother your printing. It prints about 40 seconds per paper. And since it’s wireless, then you don’t have to bring cables. Your smartphone can either tag the LG Pocket Photo Printer via NFC or just simply pair it with your Bluetooth. Though, cable for charging will come in handy, cause it only prints an average of 20 sheets after full charge, connected via Bluetooth. The battery has a 500mAh capacity, which you can charge for about 1.5 hours.

LG Pocket Photo PD221 Smart Mobile Printer will be released locally this August for Php7,990, which includes 70 sheets of photo paper already.
