Mozilla Labs Personas doesn’t just give you the power to express yourself but also the convenience to unleash and share your creativity to others. It’s up to you to decide how cool or how fierce your Firefox Web Browser should look and feel like.

Mozilla Labs Personas Add-on Lets You Personalize Firefox Browser Theme

It also gives you a whole new online experience just like how you feel when you customize designs with your social networking sites like your Facebook, Friendster, MySpace or Multiply. Just this time, imagine it on a larger scale because it lets you stay within your own realm you’ve created wherever you go online. It’s actually a lightweight, easy-to-install, easy-to-change Firefox Add-on that you can download and lets you both choose from existing gallery of uploaded designs or create your own ‘skin’ theme. Mozilla Labs Personas Firefox Browser Theme Sample Designs

The 5 snapshots above are sample designs you can readily try. The design on the very top is called “Groovy Blue” created by Lee.Tom and so far the most popular with 46,541 users as of today. I just picked other popular and featured designs that are entitled and created as follows: “Fireflies” by MaDonna, “Strata Black” by slip_x, “Paint Splat” by naz and “Leather Stitch” by Sean.Martell.

In creating your own design, there are just a few rules to remember.

1. The header just like the above samples should be in a PNG or JPG format, sized at 3000 X 200 pixels and should not be larger than 300kb. It will be anchored at the top-right corner of the header, so you would want to put the density of your design on it as you can notice with the “Groovy Blue” flower-like design.

2. The footer should be also in a PNG or JPG with a limit of 300kb filesize, but sized at 3000 X 100 pixels. It is anchored at the bottom-left corner so this time you consider your design denser on that part.

3. Now you have to run and test both your Persona header and footer images if it comfortably fits behind an OS X, XP or Vista User Interface (UI). There are two options you can choose: Using the Custom Persona setting within Firefox or using the Cross-Platform Photoshop PSD Header Template. Go here for more details.

4. After running tests and editions to your artwork, then you can submit and share it to everyone else. It’s like ‘pimp-my-ride’ thing, right?

If you’re a Firefox fan because of it’s functionality that you can be confident and be comfortable with, then this time it gives you personality you can be inspired of or just play your way.
