The Metro Rail Transit or MRT-3 will be adapting a 24-hour operations beginning June 1. This move serves as an ‘experiment’ to strategically widen the bottle neck for Metro Manila commuters who rush home early in the evening and those who work as call center agents or BPO workers that go home at wee hours.

MRT 3 general manager Reynaldo I. Berroya said that this all-day all-night operations will also take place seven days a week. This also keeps up with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s promise of supporting the BPO (business process outsourcing) sector in the country.

Call center agents usually leaves their offices around midnight or at 4am, on which buses or jeepneys are in their terminals and garages already, leaving them to ride a taxi cab instead. Having this action will not only provide safety and convenience but also keep much of their pay in their pockets as well.
