Kodak, the iconic imaging brand giant now rolls with the punches and finally adapts itself to hop in the smartphone band wagon. Announced back in January at CES 2015, Kodak IM5, its first Android mobile device is now available for pre-order online for $259 in the US and £179 in the UK.
Since Kodak is known for its iconic photography brand, it aims to take those familiar quality designs now to their handset. They basically started with custom user interface design, which allows easy access on the camera and tools on editing, storing, sharing and even printing of photos. It’ll come pre-installed with Kitkat, though the Lollipop upgrade is expected to arrive as well.
Camera at the back sports auto focus with 13MP sensor, and the front camera with 5MP. Powering the device is a powerful octa-core processor rated at 1.7GHz, paired up with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage memory.

Kodak together with Bullitt Group, its recently announced manufacturing partner are also targeting to launch a 4G LTE handset, a tablet and a connected camera this second half of 2015. Kodak IM5 is set for a global roll-out, but spearheads the pack for now on a pre-order set up online for the US at $259 (or approximately Php12,600), UK at £179 and for other parts of the European region.
