Huawei Devices got their first wearable technology out, the Huawei TalkBand B1 as announced a couple of weeks ago at the MWC 2014.
It has been an exciting moment for Huawei to showcase their latest gadgets, not to mention having the MediaPadX1 7.0 on launch making the TalkBand B1 a great companion for making calls. That’s one way of getting the tablet’s 7” interface comfortably away from your face.
Huawei TalkBand B1 is a smart band having a simple 1.4-inch OLED bendable curve display, which basically makes up the digital interface showing time on watch mode, and number display when on fitness or sleep tracking mode or even when used as a Bluetooth earpiece while calling.
In terms of connectivity, it pairs up using either Bluetooth or NFC. It also got a USB port connector at one end of the strap, making charging for 2 hours much easier without the need of putting another cable, which is good to last for about 6 days. Data and the interface can be managed through an app installed on the phone.
The TalkBand B1 is IP57 that makes it both water resistant and dust proof, still usable while you’re on a shower. Quite a second skin as described, weighing 20 grams and is 10.5 mm thin. Compatibility-wise, it can be accessed on both Android and iOS. It’s currently priced at €99, or about 130 USD.
