Philippine Independence Day is placed on a highlight on the search giant’s Chrome browser home page by having it’s sixth version of its Google Doodle this 12th of June, 2015.
Google Doodle is their way of commemorating holidays and events on a global scale. The country’s Independence Day celebration was actually featured on Google’s search engine’s page since 2009, though there’s none found on 2011, making it only six iterations on archive till this day.
On 2013, Google also dropped the “s” from the event’s title on record making it “Philippine Independence Day 2013” from “Philippines Independence Day 2012.”
Other popular celebrations on this same date will be Russia Day 2015 and Brazil’s Dia Dos Namorados translated as “Lovers’ Day” or their own version of Valentine’s Day as celebrated on most parts of the world.
