Local smartphones has been reported to pack the most battery capacity at 5000mAh, and that is the case with recently launched Starmobile UP Max. However, Gionee will soon snatched it out to have the largest battery capacity yet as its new Gionee M5 is spotted to sport two batteries with 3000 mAh each to sum up with 6000mAh total power capacity.
The M5 is speculated to last even for four days on a single charge. Interesting feature as well is its ability to power up on a single battery, making it possible to use the other as a usual backup battery, alternately. Even more surprising is getting its thickness profile to only about 8.5 mm, though it weighs a bit hefty at 213g.
Gionee M5 is reported to pull-in a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz underneath, which runs on Android Lollipop out of the box. Memory packed-in is at 2GB with RAM and 16GB on internal storage. Dual cameras is noted to have 8MP at the back and 5MP on the front.
Release date and pricing for the M5 is yet to be announced.
