ASUS announces its second iteration to its Android smartwatch, the ASUS ZenWatch 2, which now comes more personal with 2 sizes with 3 watch body colors, 18 types of straps, and customisable watch faces. And yes, it comes with a digital crown, too.
Spot on, it seems that Asus is taking design cues with the Apple Watch, and practically it could when there’s much to learn and improve in the new smartwatch category. Though, Asus left with much details out from its press release.
Apparently, Apple just announced that they’ll also be having a more customisable watch face back in WWDC 2015, too. Though, it’s just obvious to take that route to deem much personal.
ASUS ZenWatch 2 comes in two models
Well, what we have with Asus ZenWatch 2 would be two models, the WI501Q with a 49 x 31mm dimension, 22mm interchangeable strap, and the WI502Q with a smaller dimension at 45 x 37mm and strap at 18mm. Body colors available will be in Silver, Gunmetal and Rose-Gold. While straps will be made with rubber, leather or metal.
Powering the ZenWatch 2 will be a Qualcomm processor running on the latest Android Wear OS. Display is AMOLED covered with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3. It has a magnetic charger cable, too and battery is reported to fare way much better than the old. It also got IP67 water-resistance rating for a much well-rounded usability as well.
Remote camera and full-featured activity tracker
Besides remote camera control features that lets zooming and changing views from rear to front camera sensors on the watch display, it now packs a full-featured activity tracker, too. It mainly focuses on running and cycling activities, coupled with analytic and easy-to-interpret graphs for better activity setting and handling.
Asus haven’t released any info regarding pricing and roll-out of the ASUS ZenWatch 2. But, well keep you updated with the official info gets out.
