The World’s Largest Hackathon is coming to town for the second time, the AngelHack Global Spring Challenge – Manila Leg 2014, which is in partnership with Smart Communications through its Smart Developer Network (Smart DevNet) this coming July 26 – 27, 2014 at A-SPACE Manila, Makati City.
Hackers, developers and innovators that is more than 6,000 strong coming from 30 cities worldwide are expected to participate, play and create codes in the event. Just last year, 250 came in for the local code fray, leaving the creators behind PageSnapp, an app that instantly turn FB pages to an Android mobile app, the winner for Manila Leg 2013.
Winners for this year, the same as last 2013 will be able to step up to HACKcelerator program where you get to rub elbows with mentors back in Silicon Valley, be able to connect with possible investors, incubators and even get exposure to media. Even when you don’t get picked as the top winner, you’ll still be able to enjoy the perks of going through developer bootcamps teaching both Android and iOS platforms, coding camps with other hackers, games, sponsor prizes, demos, and awesome food.
If you’re interested to join, register on their site with a group of 3 to 5 members. Arm yourselves with a possible next big idea to get society either better place, more efficient, fun, exciting or just something that will purely amaze today’s generation or the next with whatever you’re trying to code with, as long as it’s a fresh code. Participants are also requested to register on a Pre-Event for AngelHack Manila on this page, which will be held this coming July 19, 2014 from 1PM to 5PM at the Meralco Multi-Purpose Hall, Meralco Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, sponsored by Smart DevNet.
Other partners besides Smart are the likes of Chikka, Voyager, Microsoft, and Opera. Some judges and mentors included in the event are members of our local community with the likes of Chito Bustamante, CEO at Chikka, Earl Valencia, President of Ideaspace, and Maui Millan, CEO at PinoyTravel among others.
