Alcatel Unveils One Touch POP 7 and POP 8 Android Tablets

Alcatel took stage at CES 2014 and officially unveiled its new POP tablet series, with both Alcatel POP 7 and Alcatel POP 8 exuding fun and excitement from its colourful and easy-to-use user interface designs.

Besides those simple but striking UIs, these POP tablets have even more capable processing power. The POP 7 actually has a 1.3GHz Cortex A7 dual core processor, with 1 GB RAM and 4GB built-in memory storage. It has 3240 mAh battery capacity and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Alcatel POP 8 has even more powerful processor with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 chipset, also having 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal memory. You can also take note that this larger screen also has even thinner profile than the 7-inch POP, with only 7.9mm thin compared to POP 7 at 8.9mm. Not to mention, POP 8 got the borderless design, also with denser pixel count at 189ppi than POP 7 at 170ppi.

Alcatel POP 7 and POP 8 will start to roll-out in Europe, Middle East, and Africa this 1st quarter of 2014 at 129 euro and 179 euro for their 3G versions, respectively. Their 4G LTE versions are planned to be released in turn by 2nd quarter of 2014. Though, availability and pricing on other markets, even locally are yet to be announced.
