Cherry Mobile hints on unveiling a new version of Google’s Android One initiative, where it promises to assume top notch specs on board. Well, it may not take long till we hear yet another announcement regarding its full set of features and pricing.
However, the likelihood of the new Cherry Mobile Android One second generation to be as the same as the General Mobile 4G Android One back in Turkey is hard to go unnoticed. That’s at least on build design as resembling the photo below.
The General One 4G is actually specced with a 5-inch HD display protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It has a 13MP and 5MP camera combo for its back and front, respectively. The processor used on this one is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 4-core 64-bit chipset paired up with 2GB of RAM and a 16GB storage, and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
Well, that’s top notch specs above there, not to mention if it’ll get great battery life, too. Though, the General One 4G costs USD260, that is around Php12K a piece. If this new Cherry Mobile Android One would also assume this price range, then it could be a hard sell. But of course, it’s Cherry Mobile and it definitely will find a way to cut those costs while retaining the requirements of the Android One initiative.
For now, we could just wait for any official announcements on the 2nd Gen Cherry Mobile Android One. Stay tuned.
